Yard gets a higher score from me because of the staff. I came here for the first time about a month ago in an attempt to appease my uncontrollable craving for an affogato.I walked in, grabbed a menu and was immediately disappointed to discovered they did NOT have it on their menu. It never ceases to amaze me how few Italian restaurants offer this amazing treat.Having nothing to lose, I decided to ask if they could make one for me anyway. Where a lot of restaurants would turn their noses up at you, the staff at Yard happily obliged to make me my favourite dessert off menu. The affogato was delicious! The vanilla ice cream was creamy, velvety and flecked with vanilla throughout, and was served with one shot of espresso and amaretto each. The three blended beautifully for a perfect affogato.I’ve been back several times, and every time Yard happily answers my request with a beautiful affogato.

Handsome space and a nice terrace. I am not crazy about the pizzas here. Have been here a couple of times but the pizzas are dominated by the taste of tinned tomato puree. Haven’t tried the pastas.

Nothing Special. I really should have turned around when I didn’t hear one local accent in the dining room, but against all instincts, my friend and I sat down to dine with the rest of the tourists. There are so many other pasta and pizza places that tastes scores better, I just can’t see myself recommending this place to anyone. Frankly, the pasta was bland, uninspired, and very much like the pasta I get back in the United States. Tourists, if you are only in London for a limited time like we are, please don’t waste the few meals you have here at a place like this.
