Growing up, I was obsessed with fresh doughnut bites; the sight of them bobbing as they cook, the smell as you first open your bag of treats and of course, the taste of cinnamon sugar on fresh carbs. There are few childhood memories which I treasure more and maybe it’s this feeling of nostalgia which keeps me craving for more. Unfortunately though, this once popular snack has in recent times given way to more contemporary alternatives and finding a pure doughnut bite vendor is difficult. However, in You Doughnut, there is little need for any other as once you’ve had theirs, the rest is playing for second. Fuffly, light and always fresh, my relationship with You Doughnut was very literally, love at first bite and their wide variety of sauces and toppings always keeps things interesting. My go-to combo though is cinnamon sugar (of course) with salted caramel sauce and pecan topping – it always hits the spot.
