Had a lovely meal at The Peach Tree last night. It’s a lovely quirky old building, we sat in the front window which was a nice spot, think I preferred this to the main dining room as it was more intimate and cosy. My husband had the special which was scallops and pork belly, I opted for the Korean pork noodles, both starters were really excellent although quite large, I could have done one of these as a main really. For main my husband chose the pan fried chicken and I went for the crusted halloumi. Both dishes were once again really very good and full of flavour. Mine was extremely filling, as it consisted of a large crusted piece of halloumi on top of a kind of grain risotto, the flavours were delicious. We shared a dessert, and went for the apple pie creme brle, this was wonderfully presented, and the apple oat slices that were served with it were divine! Our waitress was lovely, extremely friendly and very efficient. I also approve of the rather nice wine glasses that are certainly on the generous side. An excellent menu with lots of interesting options. Unfortunately I am leaving Shrewsbury today, but I hope to return and try some of the other items on the menu some day.
