The Red Lion,the oldest pub in Skipton. Dating back to the 13th Century the building was first used as a Monastery and then a 100 years later as a Leper Hospital. It began life as a Pub in the 16th Century. One of our fire places is date stamped 1681,can you find it? Our long standing neighbour is Skipton Castle, the only Norman Castle with a roof on, and is rumoured to be linked to us by underground tunnels rumours abound that it is from the well in the court yard.It is said to be haunted by 4 separate ghosts; two of which a fomer Landlord and his 4 year old daughter, who died in suspicious circumstances. Watch out though, they are said to be seen regularly around the building,
