We held our engagement party in the vip area of club 49. They allowed for last minute changes to the guestlist which was great – food is good too.The capacity is accurate if people are seated and standing but got quite full and we had to have stools removed to make it comfortable. Also, the private bar in the vip is useful too, but some drinks were unable to be made at the bar which meant waiters having to go to another bar to have the drinks made.Overall however, the service was fine and the music is really really good – a great atmosphere (although can get hot)

Went there on a Friday night with some of my friends. We werent planning to stay there for long, wanted to leave after a couple of drinks but the hostess told us about the private area where we had to pay about 40 each and we got 2 bottles of whiskey with mixers. Dont really remember much after that but my friends told me that it was a hell of a night.

When someone from work suggested a night out in club 49 I thought why not? I don’t usually go out in Soho and when I do its pretty mainstream big club places or bars and having never heard of this place I thought I’d give it a whirl. Upon arrival I wasn’t in the best of moods for clubbing as half an hour before I had consumed a vast amount of curry but I thought I might as well get the ball rolling by buying a couple of cocktails for my friend and I, I got a sex on the beach and she ordered a gin and tonic… pretty standard nothing special but when the bill came I was quite shocked at the price and asked the lady who had served me why they were charging so much… they charge by the shot bit outrageous but thought okay its a Friday night whatever… Someone then suggested we get a VIP table and we all chipped in and by chip in I mean 45.00 each! Its a bit of a pricey night but once the drinks are flowing, you go downstairs to the dance floor and of course are in good company it isn’t so bad!

Most bars in Soho offer a generic, classy atmosphere with a generic, classy price. Club 49 however, during happy hour (seemingly all night), offers drinks at very good prices with cocktails at 5.50, and beers at 3 pounds! I wasn’t sure about the club blue and red type lighting but it seemed to work well. There are several cushioned seating areas, a downstairs dancefloor, and you can order without having to go to the bar – another plus for service considering bars around the area. If there’s anything to fault is that the staff were quick to take drinks away, I guess seemingly so you order more. Would come here again during happy hour!

Went in last night for the first time. Was quite surprised, the interior was much nicer than it looked from the outside. I went during happy hour and the prices were reasonable for London standards and the drinks were good! My friend tried the absinthe mojito and he highly recommends it. Definitely going there again

Trendy place in the middle of Soho, one of the few places in the area that boast a dance floor. I stumbled upon the club a couple weeks ago- has a good vibe and the interior is pretty slick. I saw that they do Jazz nights on Mondays so I plan on revisiting (I’m quite the jazz buff). I also noticed a food menu but wasn’t hungry enough to try. The drinks, however, were simply too expensive in my opinion. Something like 8 pounds for a very normal G&T. So, a nice place but not a frequent destination for broke students like myself!
