I went out for dinner with my girlfriend, she recommend me this place as a very nice restaurant, as Italian I’ve enjoyed straight away the real Italian restaurant atmosphere, Italian waiter, real Italian atmosphere! I had One pizza and she had a portion of mussels, the food was great and I have to say, I’m working as a waiter, that the service was really good and friendly, But I could see, I presume, the restaurant manager shouting to his stuff, I didn’t find it so polite and professional,The end of the meal we had a tiramisu between two, after that our waitress brought out bill.We have decided to pay our bill together, however, the restaurant manager asked me in a very rude way why I’m splitting the bill with a girl!!, of course I felt offended and I start laugh. Obviously, it is not his business to ask me why I don’t want to share a bill! Secondly, my girlfriend has started to talk to him in a polite way. She said that she is coming quite often there and she asked the manager where does he come from. She knows Italian people quite well that’s why she had a reason to think he is not Italian. He answer was… I speak Italian and He dropped a card on a table without a word Thank you. If you the restaurant manager you need to know at least the basics about the customer service. Which he doesn’t know with his very arrogant attitude and zero manner! Especially when he is shouting at his staff and laughing in the kitchen with the chefs! He should respect the people!
Vile place … Cafe style resturant with not a lot of room between tables . Pizza was fresh And good but pasta meal came out cold and the cheese sauce tasted almost the same as the one used on my starter which was tomatoe . Won’t be going to this place ever again
The best Italian!. We happened upon this place a few years ago and now always try to get to eat there when we are up to see a show – even if the show is a good distance away. This is a brilliant restaurant, never disappoints, extremely reasonably priced and lovely people in there!
The best. I have been to La Porchetta with my friend a month ago.We ordered a sausage and broccoli pizza and a Margarita.Since we rarely have starters, we didn’t order any appetisers. The restaurant is run by real Italian people, so the food was really authentic!!!! The pizza was way better than any other chain restaurant pizza I have ever had.The crust was really well-baked and crispy. The cheese was gooey and stringy. The size of the pizza was incredibly big for the price.Compared to eating at pizza express where one pizza can cost up to 11 quid, we spent the same amount of money on a filling dinner for the two of us.The decor was rustic and all the staff were Italian as well. However, the waiters kept talking to each other and ignoring us when we wanted to get our bill. But this wasn’t a big problem because the restaurant has a very cosy and relaxed atmosphere.I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough!!! To go there is a must!
Great pizza. Chilli flakes are hot!
The worst manager I’ve come across. I went to La Porchetta with a friend on Friday evening and I had one of the worst experiences of my life, restaurants wise! The very rude, incompetent manager (who did not even know, when asked, whether they served gluten free pasta in his own restaurant!) of the restaurant accidently dropped the POS machine on our table, which after breaking my wine glass, bounced onto my main course plate splashing tomato sauce all over the place, including my clothes. He apologised to us and we accepted his apologies, however, when we asked for the bill, he had the cheek to charge us for the wine that had never been replaced and even included the service charge!!! Can you believe he only offered to take two coffees off the bill as a sign of politeness? As a consequence we complained and he started being rude and emphasised that the two coffees that he had offered to us were enough to make it up for what happened!! I had never experienced anything like that before in London. This is the most unprofessional manager I have come across in a restaurant in the UK. Furthermore, he treats the staff of the restaurant like slaves. He shouts at them, and tells them off in front of customers. How unprofessional is that?! I found this behaviour very humiliating for the staff and I felt very uncomfortable as a customer. My friends and I have decided to boycott the restaurant and will never go there again as long as the said manager will be running the place.
So rude! Neve felt so unwelcome. The manager accidentally dropped hit POS machine on our table, broke a glass, wine all over including our clothed. He decided to have a go at his staff for that. He apologised and offered a coffee at the end of the meal but refused to take off the bill the service charges. Than he had another loud go at his waiters for no reason?! It looked like an abusive mafia boss from the movies. Very embarrassing – I did not want to be Italian lady night!
