Given the high rating of this place, I’ve been trying for awhile to grab a coffee here, but they shut quite early (last orders around 16:45), so yesterday was the first time I actually managed to step in by 16:30 and order some takeaway coffee. The people at the counter were really sweet and polite and it looked like they had a lovely garden area downstairs. When we arrived, they warned us that they would be shutting in 20 minutes, in case we wanted to linger over our coffees. After 4 hours wandering around the warrens of Camden markets, We just needed to sit down for 5-10 minutes and get our caffeine fix before carrying on, so this wasn’t a problem. The reason I haven’t given the place a higher rating is1. The seats were low and slightly uncomfortable. (We sat upstairs) I understand the tighter fit (think economy seats on budget airlines) as their space is limited in a small shop, but they were really low or maybe it’s just my bones growing older.I could ignore this completely as I mostly take my coffee to go and don’t bother with sitting down.However,2. We ordered 2 iced coffees and my mum got a nice iced latte type coffee, but mine barely had a spot of milk in it. Mums looked and Tasted like it had been well blended, mine looked like a black coffee poured on ice and a spot of milk added to it.I had to go back and request more milk in my coffee as I couldn’t drink it the way it was served.Unfortunately, we were so hot and tired that mum finished her coffee before I even got up to add more milk to my coffee, so I didn’t have the chance to click a comparative picture.Dad’s hot latte was fine. I’m not sure if this was a shop / machine closing time problem, but if I order 2 of the same thing, I do expect them to look and taste similar. We had a lemon white chocolate muffin and that was good too, but for a coffee shop to not make my coffee right? I really wanted to like this place and was sadly disappointed. on.fb.me
Sou um pouco suspeita, j que fiquei apaixonada por Camden no seu todo! Espao muito giro, como qualquer bar tpico de Londres onde se pode beber um (muito) BOM caf! Os wraps e os bagels so muito bons e o servio tambm 🙂 Recomendo!I’m a bit suspicious, as I am in love with Camden as a whole! Cute space, like any typical London bar where you can drink a (very) GOOD coffee! The wraps and bagels are very good and the service too 🙂 I highly recommend it! keke.pt
Stayed in Camden only for 4 nights and I’m glad I learned about this cosy coffee house. My double caff latte was very comforting on a cold morning; their sandwich & jacket potato were filling too. I bought a cookie but I was too full to consume it so I kept it in my bag, ended up eating it the next day and it was still good. This coffee house is definitely a good reason to choose to stay in Camden if/when I visit London again.
Great coffee! Really enjoyed my coffee latte and my lemon and white chocolate muffin. To end it with a cookie was just perfect. Really recommend it for any coffee lover.
I stepped off the 134 and there it was. Hungering for a decent flat white and some banana bread, this place fell so eloquently into my lap. Service was friendly and familiar whilst the brew was smooth and the banana walnut loaf moist. As regulars popped in the barista knew their order even before it was placed. Camden Coffee House seems like everything you need in a local coffee spot. So why not a 5 star review? Well, time in Australia has made me painfully aware of the perfect flat white. This didn’t quite have the sweet nuttiness that signifies the Australian invention. However that might just be my personal preference. This little local is still very scrumptious in my taste and about 10.000 miles better than the bitter concoction you’ll have to endure at a certain grass green logo’ed American super chain. Come and get your bean on here for sure!
Hi there guys,This little treasure is situated opposite a huge Sainsbury’s and is also conveniently outside a 134 bus stop, and was therefore perfect for when I was living in and about Camden. So as part of a morning ritual I would grab breakfast at Sainsbury’s then run across the road for a nice coffee. One of the things I loved most about this little coffee house was the personal feel it had, as you get to know the guy running it. This in turn makes it a pleasure filling up my loyalty card and plus when it’s a weekend or a nice sunny day, I would always enjoy sitting outside and slowly sipping my coffee. Then again it was always nice to be able to run in and grab a coffee before the bus came. And if i didn’t manage to grab something at Sainsbury’s, they have a nice variety of sweet treats. Yes, it is a tiny bit more expensive but its good feeling, knowing that you’re helping out a local business.
