Embarassingly poor quality :(. I brought my guests from India to eat at this restaurant thinking at least it was ‘OK’ or edible. The quality of food was embarrasingly poor. I have to say that even the curries from frozen Iceland Supermarket that cost 1.50 tastes hundred times better then this. How could we eat a curry that was literally tasted like a raw chilli powder that had been heated up in cooked meat ? – That was suppose to be our vindaloo! We complained and they gave us Jalfrezi. The same flavour of chili powder with a slight taste of yoghurt. What a joke! A few other dishes we orded were very bland too. I heard someone from the kitchen making a nasty noise of clearing his throat – charming! The service was grumpy especially the older bald waiter who was serving us as if were eating for free or he did us a favour. Some members of staff were very loud and rowdy – made us felt uncomfortable. The environment was suffocatingly compact but we weren’t there for the ambiance. The toilet was grubby. I felt dirty after using it. It needs a good clean. I seriously could not wait to get out of this restaurant and felt bad and apologetic towards my guests. Upon leaving they were telling us that they were an award winning restaurant (How?) and that the owner had 8 restaurants around London! (God help him!) We had to go to a kebab shop for a take out after we left. I dont normally write reviews on restaurants but I felt compelled to write this review. Never ever again! Even for free!

Fantastic Food Judge It Yourself. The food was fantastic…I ordered a Lamb Tikka Masala which was on the House Specialties which was divine…The food was very much inexpensive, especially for London and yet it was one of the best Indians I have ever had.Best of Luck.20 Jan, 2011Great food and Service. Being from Birmingham and having eaten at many many curry houses i have to say that Drummond Villa is one of the best in London..food is excellent, service is great from many smart waiters and the atmosphere is perfect….Great place to eat… 5 star in my opinion.Good wishes to Drummond Villa Restaurant…
Dreadful. Quite the worst Indian meal I have ever had. The veg dishes tasted as though a pinch of curry powder off the supermarket shelf had been sprinkled on them. The ‘Madras’ was half a dozen tiny pieces of chewy lamb floating in a vaguely spicy tomato sauce. They even managed to spoil the beer. It came out of a bottle but the glass tasted so strongly of washing up liquid I couldn’t taste much else.6 for a main dish consisting of barely 50p of ingredients and desultory service is abominable. They don’t ask if you’ve enjoyed your meal because a) they don’t actually care and b) they already know the answer.
Awful. Just popped in to this place looking forward to a nice curry. I could not have been more disappointed. We ordered a mixture of side dishes rather than a curry and the portions were the smallest that i have ever had at an indian restaurant. Really they were tiny! I mentioned to the waiter and he was amused at my surprise and said that it was because the food was organic (which it isn’t). The sag bhaji was cold, the tarka dahl had way too much oil in and despite ordering the medium heat bombay aloo they bought the hot one that was way too hot (spicy) to eat. They did change the dahl and potatoes when i asked. I would like to say that what little we were given was good but it was not well flavoured either.I have never had the urge to write a bad review (or any review) of a restaurant before but this place so annoyed me that i felt i should warn people.Oh and 3.20 for 2 poppadoms anyone? Ridiculous. Avoid at all cost if you don’t want to feel ripped off. Wanted to rate as no stars but one seems to be the minimum.
