El parador may just be the best food I’ve ever had in London that didn’t cost 50 pound or more a plate. The selection is wide, the specials are constantly changing, and the three for two lunch specials makes it a must visit.Have gone back, and will continue to do so!
El Parador is inexpensive and unpretentious and serves very delicious food. Clearly a labour of love on the part of the owners, check out the tuna, the fennel, the pork belly and the flan, marvel at the delicious treacly Pedro Ximenes sherry. Buy their cookbook – it’s worth it.
Fantastic food, great vegetarian selection, almond tart and choc mouse to die for
Best Tapas I’ve had in London. We went on a thursday night and it was busy, but only waited 5mins for a table. Great food, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. We had calamari romana (good), pimientos de padron (awesome), quail (awesome), and parsnips pan fried with honey & black sesame seeds (awesome). Can’t wait to go back!
El Paradise, I meant Parador. Superb. Never a poor plate served. The best Tapas, nay Spanish, restaurant in London that I’ve come across: authentic, delicious, incredible value & all served by really lovely people. If you don’t know about this place then go discover it now, you won’t be disappointed.
Poca gema. I love El Parador. Just by Mornington Crescent, at the a*se end of Camden, which is an a*se end in itself, it is a thoroughly decent tapas joint that you can a) get into and b) not be charged the earth for. It’s near my work, so we probably go twice a month, and I drag all my friends there. Garlicky broad bean puree with bread to dip while we make our orders, which tend always to be variations on:Morcilla – the most lovely, crumbly but moist black puddingLamb zhoug – chops or fillets with a fiery green chilli, ginger and rosemary sauceAlbongigas – lovely meatballsSlow roast pork bellyAny of the grilled squid/octopus dishesRazor clams with lemon and garlicScallops with harissaGrilled artichoke hearts with broad beansAn oozy properly made tortillaSweet potato roasted with fetaSamphireBoqueronesThey are all made with noticeable care and attention. This place has been going for 25 years, it’s family run, and whilst I love Saltyard, Barrafina et al, it’s lovely to have somewhere a bit more homestyle where the food is still exceptional, but the prices not. They’re running a 3 for 2 tapas offer at lunch at the moment, which is great value. Have the white rioja to accompany, scrummy.
Lovely tapas but pricey… Get a table in the garden if you can!
