It’s an amazing place with great ambiance but music is not really your thing if you are upto a great night filled with crazy fun dancing. It gets better after around 1am and it’s too late. Good place and great service and variety of drinks but music sucks.

The place is definitely interesting and the music fun, it was a fun experience and the price isn’t ridiculously high so of course me and my friends had a great night 🙂
I just love this venue!! It is a converted theatre with three floors and a large disco ball in the centre of the dance floor. It has 3/4 different bars and a small outside area – same music is played throughout though. They have different themed nights and sometimes artists play at the venue so keep an eye out – seems to be generally more indie music than anything. Now in my ripe old age of 27 I am finding myself a little old and surrounded by 18-21 year olds but nonetheless it is a good laugh and drinks are definitely cheaper than normal London prices.
Went to a Xmas party here and the venue is great and very unique as it looks like an old theatre but I believe if it was ever a theatre it was a very long time ago as even in the 70s it was a gig venue. The problem is the food was total rubbish with 2 thin pieces of Turkey, 3 tiny sprouts, 3 tiny carrots, and 2 roast potatoes drizzled in a bit of gravy! They should have put it all on a side plate as looking at it on a dinner plate made it look even more sad!
The drinks can get pricey but when I went for a show, one of the bars did them cheaper until a certain point in time, which is nice to know. The venue itself is gorgeous, with an enormous disco ball in the ceiling that sparkles all night. The sound is great, and clearly reaches all areas of the huge venue, a must have for the kind of shows often put on at Koko.
If you are a fan of indie music, and spend some time to discover events online and follow up the music blogs, you will have noticed that there is much going on at KOKO. The location is quite convenient for hanging out before and after the concert or event, and you will definitely be fascinated with the historical dcor and the aura of the space. The night out experience can sometimes get messy once you wait for hours to get a drink and even if you wait for some time, you give up the idea of using that dirty toilet in some venues but there will be none of that in KOKO. The staff is also attentive- they have a consistent quality and reputation. They do have weekly club nights’ regular Club NME events and you might check out the calendar for the next big thing- Guilty Pleasures is on 25th, that goes as my choice for October. Oh, the memories : The first time I visited KOKO was a New Years Eve and it had a diverse choice of party moods throughout the night- had fun throwing that party.
