Avoid! Worse service and food ever! Gave them another chance again today and what a mistake! This restaurant operates with no management and the staff rudeness shows it!One aggressive moody waitress took our order which I could kind of let go at the time.. Then when my food came, most disgusting sticky noodles ever, I decided to return it. I spoke to the ‘most friendly looking waitress’ and what a mistake. She started to pull her face and argue with me. When I asked to order something else, she slammed the menu on the counter. So I returned to my table and was ignored for the next 40 minutes whilst my friends finished their meal and I sat with only a drink in front of me, no food. I decided to return later on to speak to the manager. I transpires that the manager was not there (that would explain the worst service in the world) Guy (that’s his name apparently) only works part time…. Shocking! Anyway, I dealt with one of the waiter who started to panic when I pointed at the waitress that had been rude to me. Massive scene as she came confronting me and arguing with me that I ordered the wrong food. Anyway, cut the story short, after much drama that waitress was doing her last shift on the day and this is why she took the liberty to be so rude and aggressive towards me. Absolutely not acceptable. How can you employ such people. I will be coming back and find this elusive manager who should be on the floor addressing this type of problem staff.

Possibly the rudest restaurant I’ve ever visited, with the most bad-tempered waiting staff. Food was, at best, average. The only plus was that the service was so bad, it was quite funny; but I definitely would not recommend the restaurant or the food unless you’re desperate. The nail in the coffin was the 25% tip the serving staff awarded themselves on the bill. Avoid!

It was my first time in Taste of Siam. I had just a quick lunch there so I cannot say much about the restaurant but it was recommended by my friend. I had Pad Thai which was really nice and fresh. I drunk Thai ice tea and it was marvellous, very creamy, sweet but not too much drink. Probably I will come back there.

I don’t know much about Thai food but it was my first try at some Thai curries. And I loved it. We were a bunch of people and had booked a table easily beforehand. We had a Thai friend between us so it was easy to order the best food on the menu and communicate with the staff. The staff was very sweet as well. Tried coconut rice and egg rice and was really good. Loved the green and red Thai curries. The spring rolls were not ‘Thai’ though. We all loved all juices – all their juices were fresh. My favourite among all was stir fried duck with tamarind sauce. It was yummy. Desserts were superb – they will make me go again just for that. We had amazing ones of which I forgot the name. Thai Ice Tea and Green Tea Icecream is a must try.

Very bad and rude service. They keep charging for staying over 2 hours and don’t let you take with you food that left on your plate unless you pay extra for it. Isn’t it supposed to be thrown away at the end?

Not often am I motivated to write a review, less a negative one, but my experience of Taste of Siam has been so poor that I have to leave comment. To summarise the food is mediocre at best and the service non existent, but I think that neither of these things are the priority at Taste of Siam. What you have here is the only Thai restaurant at the Mornington Crescent end of Camden and therefore the only possible choice for someone looking to eat Thai at that end of Camden. This is the 1970’s school canteen of Thai food. We ordered some starters, soups, main dishes and rice, vegetables. When I asked for the soups and a starters first the waitress became confused and in the end just walked a way when we were unable to reach an agreement. There are not a lot of vegetarian dishes on the menu, in the vegetarian section there is a Green Curry that my partner wanted to order, I asked the waitress if it was vegetarian, she said yes, I asked if it had Ka Pi (shrimp paste) she told me they don’t put shrimp paste in green curry, she seemed confused and annoyed I was asking questions about the food. We asked for a few more minutes in which time we notice there is an F for fish symbol by the ‘veggie’ curry, I assume for the Ka Pi in the paste or fish sauce which is what I was trying to ascertain.I ordered Pla Rad Prik, crispy fish with chill sauce. This was almost inedible. It was fried fish with half a bottle of Thai Sweet Chilli sauce poured over it, with large pieces of undercooked peppers and onion. Gloopy and overly sweet with the generic Sweet Chilli sauce, not resembling in any way the traditional rendition of this dish. The staff didn’t smile once, they got annoyed when I asked anything about any of the dishes, when they came to serve the food they listlessly approached the table with zero grace and enthusiasm, plonking the food down on the table without any consideration or acknowledgement. The banana fritter and coconut ice cream were ok, though the batter was a bit soggy, the Nam Pla Prik (a condiment of chilli in fish sauce) was the best thing they served us. It seems to me they are only interested in serving the passer by and infrequent customer, or any of the hoard of tourists who pass through Camden on a night out, the food is bland and cheaply done, with no attention to creating what should be a great dish (Pla Rad Prik for example, served here covered in the ubiquitous bottled Sweet Chilli).I won’t go back, there are much better Thai restaurants at the Chalk Farm end of Camden.

Camden has so many great eateries (from restaurants to kiosks) that the highlight of each trip of mine there is food)On one such sojourn, I went to the Taste of Siam. It’s a tiny place, which may feel cramped on weekends, but cheerful and very cafe-ish. Recommended: Prawn and pork dumpling for starters, Pad Thai for mains (you’d love it) and Thai Iced Tea (I had to double the order of this one, it was so refreshing and tasty) Overall food is flavorsome and portions are good. Price – We paid 20 among 2 with beverages. They also have an option of cooking your own hot-pot (recommended if you have 2 or more people with you) for only 12.50 per head. Sounds good to me, I shall try it next time.
