Well.. The way we ended up here is a myth haha We set out for a night out on Saturday to a jazz bar; never been so wanted a new experience and who don’t like a bit of jazz?!At first we decided to go to the round midnight jazz bar in Islington, recommended by a few people; we set put with great intentions and get there within 20mins by car.. Only.. To find.. The bar was closed!! We rang the numbers, no answer, it was such a huge disappointment! To make sure we weren’t crazy, we waited to see anyone walk in or out, people did try to walk in but ended up looking as lost as us.. So that made me feel better hahahWe then set out for the blues kitchen in Camden, however the cold was now blistering! The line was not moving whatsoever for 30mins and as my girl was turning into a icicle even with my warm hugs, it was time to make a quick decision! She spotted the bar behind us, The Forge and Foundry in bright pink and blue lights. I went up to see it and the vibe felt jazzy coupled with a afrobeat night; sounded like our sort of vibe.It was 12 for the entrance, which mm didn’t really expect let’s just say. Once in there, the mood was great, small bar with a smallish seating area and a dancefloor and stage ahead of us; very cosy setting! We squeezed in one happy hour cocktail which ran from 5pm-9pm, which was a caffetini! Amazing! All that vodka and expresso, what more could you ask for?! Haha and to my surprise, the lady agreed and she is not a coffee lover at all (vodka does great things) hahaOur next cocktails were an Allo Allo for her (highly recommended) and an unmemorable one for me to be honest. The music picked up throughout the night switching from jazz to afrobeats and filled with great conversation and company, great night! Wish it was bigger, to be honest and don’t know if the entrance fee was justifiable! Prices for cocktails were ok for camden 8.00 for a cocktail during happy hour its 2 for10.
