Tried a number of different cocktails and they were fantastic! I liked the variety on the menu and it was great to see cocktails that I’ve never heard of before. My favourite was the passion and peach chilli margarita which was refreshing and tangy. I wasn’t sure how the tabasco sauce was going to go but it was divine.
The Riverfront has one thing going for it and one thing only, the view. The food is of poor quality and the waiters persistently obtrusive. The layout and atmosphere are very aware and uncomfortable. It is more a convenient eat rather than a restaurant to dine at.
It’s location is really the thing the Riverfront has going for it. Right on the river (no, duh) and great for people watching, the southbank is one of the best parts of the city to enjoy a warm and balmy evening. Having said that, in colder weather huge warmers means that you can still huddle up outside.
I would have expected the restaurant at the BFI to be relatively expensive, but it wasn’t at all. The Riverfront is on the upper floor of the building , with a dining hall overlooking the Thames and an open air terrace to boot, providing a glorious view. While the food is affordable, the portions are deceptively tiny, if well presented. Definitely worth a visit, but you might have to order twice as much as you expect in order to leave satisfied.
The BFI Southbank has a good bar and a surprisingly reasonably priced restaurant (the Riverfront). As a dining room, the area tot he left of the entrance is passable with a modern feel and lots of tables, though it can feel a little cramped. On a warm evening, however, the large outside dining area under Waterloo Bridge is a great place to dine next to the river. The food is of the standard British sort, though the menu offers a decent choice. Food can be enjoyed with a wide range of beers and wines from the bar conveniently opposite the dining room. For a decently priced dinner given its excellent location on the Southbank, the BFI Riverfront is worth a shot.
Frequented this place due to work place being very near, great view of the river just near London eye. Good place to have a quick bite after a good walk on South Bank. Ambiance: Casual but very relaxing.Food: Lamb chops with potato is good choice for lunch. English breakfast is good if you plan to have light lunch.
