It is a nice cosy place for a quick coffee break and a nice piece of cake.Situated on the main road, Bake&Cake is a nice cafe providing cakes, beverage, sandwiches and salads. It has a nice cosy atmosphere inside but there are not seats available outside and it is also on a main road which can be a downside.The cakes are freshly made and quite cheap and you can also order a whole cake for takeaway. It is not a self-service and there is just one person working. Therefore when it is busy you may wait for more than 10 min to place an order.When I went there, I spent about 9 for two pieces of cake, coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. It is fairly cheap, though. I tried the pistachio cake which is great although it is weirdly green.I would definitely go back and enjoy another piece of cake.
I’ve got a sweet tooth, so when I spotted this place I was determined to try it. Despite being at the heart of Kilburn High Road, this place has done little to attract attention which made me notice the scarce amount of customers in the bakery (which admittedly was slightly unnerving). However, the place was very wonderfully decorated and I found it to be a very comfortable experience overall.Now onto most important factor, the food; the cakes and pastries all looked beautiful and they all generally went down pretty well. I found that the chocolate cake in particular was wonderful and I would happily order it again. However, some of the other sweets were not so great especially the cheesecakes, some of which had the wrong consistency (a la angel delight) and tasted bland. The drinks were pretty standard, the coffee was nice but it was nothing to write home about and I also tried the hot chocolate which was satisfying, but again nothing special. Overall, the place is lovely and it is a very pleasant place to enjoy a sweet snack. However, whilst the food is generally delightful, it was still slightly underwhelming and does not quite match up to my expectations.
