Without doubt the worst restaurant I have ever been to in my life. Despite the genteel decor, the atmosphere was non- existent. We could have been in a morgue. There was no music, no atmosphere, and unfriendly, unprofessional service. There were only three tables that were filled out of about 40 tables, and yet the service was so slow that we waited endlessly for our courses to be served.I ordered white wine which was luke warm and I had to ask for ice. for a restaurant of this supposed calibre and price, the service was inept at best, and the food was quite forgettable.The food had almost no taste, and reminded me of colonial- style restaurants in the 1950’s. Our plates were piled high with so much food that we could not possibly finish any of the courses, and yet we were paying for them. The food was utterly tasteless, unimaginative and uninteresting. It may have appealed once in the 1950’s when the post- war period was looking for quantity and not quality. Have they not yet heard of high- quality, tasty, small portions, which the rest of the world is now serving? I would rather have had a hamburger and a fraction of the price.If I pay high prices I expect quality and something different – not a worse meal than I could make at home. No imagination at all was used. The place was deadly dull, uninteresting and appalling. I felt as if a were in a tomb.Please go out there and see some good restaurants and up your game! What a cheek you have to charge such high prices for such inferior food and warm wine!
