Just went to this place as I regularly do and I was greeted by the manager who said ‘ come back in 2 hours because I’m not going to serve you ‘ automatically I thought he was joking but only until I heard him being rude to another customer about how he has messed up the order and cannot fix it as he is the only one working today I realised it was not a joke he was disgustingly rude and a utter embarrassment to the Gold Coast , no wonder why you have no staff and a dead restaurant when you run the place like you do. Was so frustrating as I have been waiting all day for a chef special. I shall not be returning.
I used to be a very big fan of this place and would eat there regularly until the last time i was there i ordered fufu and light soup, drove home (30 minutes) to find the soup was just full of bones. was extremely annoyed and called them immediately they advised me to come back and it will be exchanged. i drove back (again another 30 minutes) only to be accused of eating the meat and being a liar. firstly i brought all the food back so why would i waste time just for a few pieces of meat. secondly the fact that i was accused of being a liar to my face incensed me and eventually ended up walking out of the shop no food and no refund. will DEFINITELY NEVER EVER COME BACK
Gold coast bar is a great place to go if you want to experience african cuisine, I’ve personally been there a few times and had a great time and meal on each occasion. On my last visited I try the Kelewele for starters and it was great. Full of taste and natural flavour. As a mains I ordered my favourite, Beef stew with a side of rice and let me say I’ve yet to taste a better beef stew. First off they give a real portion of diced beef which is careful seasoned and well spiced. The recipe is definitely worth asking for. In total I paid no more than 20 with an african beer also billed up which is also worth trying. The service is great and the atmosphere is lively, truly worth the trip.
