Loats of food (good food though) and friendly service. Ill def come back. It was perfect for a lazy Sunday very late lunch, restaurant was almost just for us, everything was good.
I like this restaurant because it makes me feel that im not in England, even from the outside it looks like it doesnt belong there. The food was ok, I had the veal escalope which was a little bland for me but my friend really enjoyed his pasta. The service was good, the staff were attentive and chatty as it was quiet when we went.
La Nonna serves up tasty Italian food with a fantastic atmosphere. It is just a short walk from Wimbledon tube station, so is very easy to get to and is worth a visit if you love Italian cuisine! The restaurant has a good range of pasta and meat dishes, of which I have never been disappointed! The service is attentive andI love the decor. Fairy lights decorate the outside and on entering, you see interesting pieces of art, wine bottles and crockery hanging from the ceiling.Because of it’s comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, I would recommend La Nonna for a date night or family meal.
We saw good reviews so thought we’d give it a go Starters I had calamari romana. The dish looked good, nice portion. The tomato sauce was lukewarm and could literally have been a canned tomato soup with some seasoning. I believe that is what it was. The calamari were ok, chewy and overcooked- ive come to expect it tbh. The bread that i ordered was stale and should not have been served imo. I rarely complain but i asked if i could have fresh bread- they returned and advised unfortunately not, but they could put it in the oven. I politely declined. Pizzas next. I love pizza. Mine disappointed. I ordered 4 seasons and I hoped for more. It was very light, dry and bready. The tomato sauce was sparce and the experience was privy of flavour apart from the spicy peperoni. Disappointing. Try again? I dont think so.
