  Being a northerner in London, I get slightly annoyed that my usual 7 Sunday roast in Dronfield has been replaced by 18 gastro pub Sunday lunches. Luckily for me, the Gardeners does a roast for 9.95 and if you order a Bloody Mary at the same time it’ll only cost you 5p more – carvery and a drink for a tenner, winning at life. The meat isn’t the best in London but they’re generous with the portions and they do a cracking cauliflower cheese. Not bad. whatsarahdoes.com

  So very disappointing.. But then it is a chain pub. Three of us went to lunch on a 2 for 10 value pack. A normal lunch serving is priced at 7.00. The quality of the my small fish and chorizo patty, with salad, was tasty enough but the salad dressing was far to sweet and revolting. Also the the portion size was appetiser/ starter size not lunch at the 7.00 mark. REALLY NOT WORTH IT. Its like a cheap supermarket promotion when the basic product just isn’t up to scratch. Yes they did sting us again with the price of the drink, as per, and no I will not be returning.

  Great Pub. Newly redecorated, this pub is a little gem. Often overlooked for the rather snobby Earl Spencer next door, the new owners have put their heart and soul into making this pub a great alternative. Great drinks, great food, and lots of events. I urge you to give it a try.

  Great pub, great food. Great selection of ales & beer, and the food was fantastic – generous portions and good quality. Friendly place.
