I went with my friend to watch the world cup semifinals and when leaving, the manager/owner very rudely got on our faces and told us never to come back again because we drunk just two beers, so he didn’t get enough profit from our table. He even got out of the pub as we were leaving to repeat his threat, in an even ruder tone. And by the way we were very calm and polite, given the situation, which makes this behaviour simply inexplicable. Never going back there, that’s for sure.
A nice cosy pub with a lovely log fire, but unfortunately the food was a let down. The sausages for the sausage and mash tasted cheap & didn’t warrant the 10 price tag. The fish & chips was very greasy & for some reason the fish was served with a pile of salt on it which seemed odd. The fish also tasted like it had been fried in week old oil – not very nice. However, when we complained, the waitress was very obliging & refunded the cost of the fish & chips. Overall a pretty disappointing experience.
