I had high hopes when visiting this restaurant, as it always looked like a small family business that would make nice home made food. However, I was left unimpressed by my experience there.Me and my friends decided to pick from the 2 course lunch options for 12 as the same mains on the regular menu costed more than the set menu that had 2 dishes. Two of us got the calamari starter and the other got the soup. To be honest I have had better calamari by buying it frozen from Tesco and frying it myself. It was way too thin and definitely did not taste fresh. My other friend could not even eat his soup as it was tasteless for him. The waitress offered to bring him something else but we did not have enough time to wait for an extra dish because we had to get back to work.Coming to the mains, the pizza was good, however it does take a lot to mess up pizza.. The chicken in bread crumbs with spaghetti did not look very appetising but according to my friend it was ok, and the other pasta dish was a bit heavy on the garlic but acceptable. To be honest this place is best avoided, but if you happen to be there just order the pizza and do not bother with anything else. You can buy the same from the supermarket and have better results cooking it yourself. darcrose22albionadventures.blogspot.com

Definitely one of my favourite Italian venues in London. Located around 10 min away from Waterloo tube station, the Ristorante Olivelli offers Italian food as well as a great selection of white and red wines.I ordered a Caprina pizza with goat cheese and rocket which is my favourite. My partner ordered the Pollo Milano chicken-with a fried shell in a combination with spaghetti Pomodoro. We experienced a great food, service and a nice afternoon on Olivelli’s outside seatings. We spent about 40 plus drinks which was quite affordable.I definitely recommend the venue!

Just dined at this local Italian restaurant. This was a very lovely place, my regret is I forgot to take a picture of my starter and my desert, the 2 best dishes!!The starter I had was the calamari served with tartar sauce. These were the biggest rings of calamari I’ve ever had. They looked beautiful and they tasted incredible! My mains, as you can see, was the pan fried breaded chicken with spaghetti pomodoro (a plum tomato sauce). The food tasted good, the pasta was cooked well, the sauce was fresh and sweet. I selected both these dishes from their set menu however I was too late to get the set menu price of 10.95. Instead we paid 8 for the calamari and 13 for my main. The food was definitely good enough to visit again for the set menu deal which has many items to choose between.I also forgot to take pictures of my desert which was profiteroles in warm chocolate sauce. I kinda attacked them as soon as they hit the table!! They were awesome, not the best profiteroles I’ve had but great nonetheless. Also it was only 5 for 3 so a little on the expensive side. The choux pastry was soft, the cream was delicious and the warm choc sauce was lovely! By the way the best profiteroles I’ve had was at Le Relais de Venise in the City, a kinda favourite place of mine, very simple menu with absolutely amazing deserts! All in all, Olivelli was a great Italian place with impeccable service. A friend of mine joined us unexpectedly and the staff were so accommodating moving us to a bigger table. They recommended dishes and condiments, one of which was a roasted and chopped garlic in olive oil which tasted great through the spaghetti as I do love garlic, and were generally very friendly. Definitely worth trying especially for the set menu which operates between noon and 5pm, well on a Saturday at least.

Disappointed. We really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service but were very disappointed when it came to paying the bill. We received the account which came out with a 12.5% optional service charge / tip, which was not explained to us at any stage, it was not displayed on their menus, shop front or even at their counter. We handed the waiter our money and awaited for our change when the OPTIONAL service charged was deducted from the monies we handed over. We did not want to make a scene as we are tourists but we were both appalled. This is not a great way to start our first UK holiday with the first two nights having a similar thing happen to us at two different local restaurants. We left feeling ripped off and with a bad taste in our mouths.
