Small cozy place near waterloo station for indian food.We always go back there for their tandoori and kebabs. The kebabs and starters are just amazing. The indian main side dishes could be better though. The ambience is alright.Nothing too fancy. Ideal for small group of friends or for couples. We always had take aways from here.
The Food was not at all good.. I ordered dal makhani, chicken tikka masala and chana masala.. It says the cuisine is Indian but The taste was nowhere near of what it should actually be.. The chef definitely doesn’t know what are the Indian flavours.I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go there who really wants to have some Indian food… Try some other place instead!!!
I have tried the restaurant only for takeaways. The venue is situated 10 min away from Waterloo tube station. The venue itself is quite attractive and it has plenty of spaces to seat and dine-in. However, I was in a rush and I only ordered the traditional tandoori chicken tikka with three different sauces. However, it looked so good I decided to stay and dine in.The food was amazing and my request for less spices was also accomplished which was quite nice.Great venue with a rich selection of Indian dishes which definitely should be tried!
Last night I ate at The South Bank Tandoori with a friend whos Dad recommend the restaurant to us. We went on an impulse decision after we decided that we felt too lazy to make our own dinner, so instead we decided to spend money that we didn’t have, oh student life! We arrived at the very full restaurant and managed to instantly get a table for two. It was jam packed, a good sign for promising food.We had an array of choices on the menu of which we chose a selection. They accommodated my friends request of a potato korma instead of chicken (as she is a vegetarian) very nicely. The service was a little odd, they explained that they were understaffed but the team of staff members seemed to be fluttering around every where and so missed customer requests such as more mango chutney and so on. The food was lovely, we thoroughly enjoyed all of it and couldn’t finish as we were so full! We asked an elder member of staff to box the food up for us, but separately as we didn’t want to mix the meat and vegetarian meals together. The waiter seemed a bit annoyed by this request which was disappointing as the rest of the meal had been a pleasant experience. The restaurant continually filled up all evening proving its popularity although we did find it slightly expensive! I haven’t been to many Indian restaurants but in comparison to the ones I have eaten in it was pretty much on par. Not outstanding but a sufficient, tasty meal and that’s why I am awarding it a rating of 3.0.
Good food and decent ambience. Situated just behind southwark underground station. Tasted vegetarian dishes and channa masala is good and should try.
