Yummy Bengali food, loved the taste but the mutton was disappointment as it was reheated again and again! This was our third or fourth visit here! Trip to Brick lane is mandate and so is the lunch in here!
Its a useful address for a cheap takeaway on a night you dont feel like cooking if you live locally. There is a very wide array of pre-made curries on offer.I like the buttery biryani flavoured with anise, and includes very tender slow cooked lamb. Tarka Dahl is too liquid for my taste. Spinach with white beans are quite nice if a little bland. Curried chicken breast has a good flavour but is a little dry. Weve had some pleasant fish curries that need to be filletted.Dinner for two with enough leftovers for a big lunch for one usually comes to 13-15.
If I had the choice I would rate it 0. This has to be the only restaurant in London where the staffs think its okay to misbehave with their customers. This was shocking. I wouldn’t be surprised if bad food quality is also tolerated just like bad quality of service is tolerated here. Please do not waste your money going here
Bad service. We always eat at the restaurant opposite it just because we prefer the food there and prefer to come here for tea. We didn’t think it was a problem until the person behind the counter very creepily noticed this and called us out for doing so and called us cheap customers and he was shouting this out in front of the entire place. Do not waste your money going here where they have no value for the customers or sense of how to treat them. One word, PATHETIC!
A classic stop on Brick Lane’s true Bangladeshi restaurants. The service is at best mediocre, but the variety of very different curries is just astonishing.A win is combining rice or the homemade paratha bread (never naan!) with a selection of dry/saucy curries. Bangladesh consumes a great deal of freshwater fish so give them a try if you don’t mind picking though bones. Brain masala is addictive.Prices are inexpensive.NOTICE: Unlike your typical curry house, food is already cooked so it’s just reheated before being served (In my opinion a rested curry will always taste better).
