It’s noisy when crowded. A lot of hard surfaces. We subscribed to their newsletter so got an invitation to the discounted soft launch. This place is well priced for a hearty simple meal. Big portions but I didn’t find the food particularly exciting. Unfortunately we weren’t terribly hungry at the time of our reservation due to a late lunch. Friendly staff.I wanted the Rasta salad which contains char grilled fruit and avocado with some wings but they were sold out of that salad. The only other salad was a jerk chicken Caesar so I had that with a starter portion of jerk pork ribs instead. The ribs were falling off the bone tender but smothered in too much sweet BBQ sauce for my taste. I would recommend ordering the sauce on the side, if possible. Prettily presented with a garnish of pea shoots and edible flowers. There were a few plantain chips on the plate for crunch. The chicken Caesar was plenty of salad in a nice garlicky vinaigrette with a hint of anchovy. The dressing was really good. Croutons were not homemade though. Jerk chicken a touch on the dry side.My companion was very happy with his meal of a quarter jerk chicken with garnishes of fried plantain, and rice and peas. Though I thought his chicken was a touch dry too. The rice and peas were fabulous. Cooked in meaty stock and plenty of coconut milk. The pan fried plantains were sweet and tasty.The quaffable house red was 18. At full price our bill would have been 43 including service.
