Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate!!! Dark Sugars is heaven. I have never seen such fresh, raw, variety in one place. Dark Sugars is cosy corner chocolate store in the infamous Brick Lane! DS is super popular and always buzzing! We literally ate the whole bag of chocolates we bought before even getting back to the station! (Which is like right around the corner.) TIP: Do try there Dark Chocolate covered dates and Gin & Tonic Truffles! Dont get drunk on the chocolates – trust us its possible.
Food – 4Service – 3Ambience – 4.5Delicious hot chocolate if you like it on the sweet side as I do. As you get to the bottom of the cup it starts to get thicker and sweeter, which some would probably find too cloying but I didnt really mind it too much. The place had charming interiors, and the drink itself was IG-worthy with pretty shards of chocolate shavings nestled on top. I made the mistake of picking up my drink before taking a quick photo and the shavings all fell, hence no pic. But the chocolate was rich, frothy, and sweet and I wouldnt mind going back. I went to the smaller store on Brick Lane which turned out to be the right move as the bigger store (Cocoa House) had a queue.
The chocolate is really good, but tried some truffles and sincerely I don’t think the price point is good enough. Would like to taste the hot chocolate to validate my opinion.
Ah the perfect hot chocolate for cold weather. Served with chocolate shavings on top. The hot chocolate is not too sweet and perfectly mixed. I would highly recommend it.
I don’t usually write reviews but this experience was so bad I felt I had to. Awful service, expensive, very average product. All show. Guy selling was incredibly rude. Definitely don’t recommend this place. Many better places to visit.
Super awesome store & a paradise for chocolate lovers with variety of flavours in various forms & shapes. Ordered the most talked about Hot Chocolate with heaps of chocolate shavings, which melts with the heat of milk. Very interesting to watch being loaded & settled in the cup, however with the amount of chocolate, which goes in it becomes too sweet towards the end to finish.
Heaven for chocolate lovers!!! Little bit expensive, but when you want something different not just a box of boring chocolates – this is a perfect choice!
