  This Italian restaurant is a local favourite of mine. It always has a fantastic daily changing menu and sticks closely to traditional Tuscan fare. Admittedly, it doesn’t churn out cheap plates of pasta, but if you’re sensible it is easy to have a starter and main course for around 20 per person. With a group it’s even better because the antipasti portions are enormous and can easily serve 4 as a generous starter. The wine is outstanding. I came here on a recommendation about 4 years ago and haven’t stopped bringing friends, family and colleagues – it particularly appeals to anyone who’s lived in Italy and wants a taste of something authentic. I tend to find that it’s hard to get a table last minute, so it’s worth booking in advance. Also I learned from a friend that this restaurant is often visited by wine merchants when visiting London for trade fairs. If it is good enough for them, it’s good enough for me! My only gripe is that it doesn’t often open at the weekends…considering how busy Artillery Passage has become, I’m amazed they haven’t taken the opportunity.
