I discovered Ghandi’s by chance as I was doing a Jack the Ripper tour. Me and my sister were looking for some good Indian restaurants and the tour guy told us to drop by Curry Street (Brick Lane). There were plenty of restaurants there but hats off for Ghandi’s! We enjoyed it so much we came back for a second run with some friends later that week. Our idea was to get several dishes so that each of us could try them all.To start off we ordered the Tandoori Platter. For me it was a little dry but it stimulated our taste buds well enough for the next round. Then the Garlic Chili Chicken (it had entire jalapeos and it was a little to hot for me), the Butter Chicken (very nice), the Tandoori Chicken (the hero of the day! The chicken was tender and the amount of heat was just right) and the Tikka Masala Chicken (lovely as in our first visit). As sides, we had mixed vegetable rice, special fried rice with egg and peas and 3 Naans: traditional, garlic, cheese. The best rice was definitely the first, although they were a little dry. All the Naans were spot on and we kept dipping them into the chicken Tikka sauce and the Chili one.The waiter who attended our table was very nice (his name was R. Ali) but all the other waiters were in a hurry to clean our table even though we hadn’t finished eating. That was the only down side. We felt we were being rushed. All things considered, I recommend Ghandi’s.
