If you’re like me and spot an interesting Instagram post the only natural thing would be to pass by the place when you’re in the area. Having seen a few posts about Nude espresso I was looking forward to some seriously good coffee. They let you select your blend or go for the blend they have prepared. I went by their choice and for the price paid the serving was really tiny and not worth the effort. I was a bit disappointed.
Music is way way to load I had to should to my dad sitting next to me but the coffee is top nots and the peanut utter cookie deffo worth a try xx
After traipsing around Colombia Road flower market and Brick Lane, a good coffee was exactly what we needed. There are two branches of Nude Espresso directly across from each other, we visited the bigger one which houses the micro-roastery. It had a really cool vibe with minimalist industrial decor, add into the mix some great music and you have a winning combination. The flat white at Nude Espresso was on point, velvety and strong, paired with a macadamia, cranberry and white chocolate cookie- perfect. The perfect spot for a coffee and treat whilst breaking from trailing around Brick Lane.
Great Coffee. Yes, I am another Aussie who lived in London, BUT, the coffee at Nude really is delightful.
A little taste of home.. One of the first proper coffee’s i’ve tasted since leaving melbourne. Exceptional coffee, to Melbourne standards!
Coffee and chocolate chip cookies. I really love visiting Nude Espresso. good coffee and good food in a very relaxed and comfortable ambience. what more can you ask for from a coffee shop?I have my usual cappuccino and a chocolate chip cookie (which is a gigantic chocolate chip cookie! with large semi-melted chocolate chunks. One of the best that I have had in London, paling in comparison to the ‘fresh out of the oven’ cookies at sainsburys, or tescos and those displayed at the counter at starbucks). I have had their portobello scrambled eggs spinach with toast and despite being on the pricey side (around 9 pounds? – since I can technically cook everything myself from that plate) each item was executed brilliantly; esepcially the eggs which were not overcooked, hence maintaining a creamy consistency whilst the portobello mushroom soaked up flavours of the oils or butter that it was fried in. I also tried the corn cakes but again this was also a bit pricey… 9 pounds for three little pancake discs dalloped with something the resembled yogurt. So all in all. I keep going back for their cookies and coffee- not so much for the items of the written menu since it is a bit pricey and most i can make myself or find cheaper at other cafes that cook these items at the same level of qualities (cough cough like foxcroft and ginger)
The Good & the Bad. I went to this place last Sunday and I must say as soon I stepped in I was overwhelmed by the smell of the coffee and I thought, this is a good start. My Girlfriend and I sat down and ordered 2 cappuccinos and 2 Pastries. The Pastries arrived quite quickly but unfortunately the cappuccinos took their time. I usually like to eat the pastry with the cappuccino; it is like having a meal in a restaurant and the wine comes at the end!!!It took 15 minutes and although it was not extremely busy (5/6 people) we ordered a cappuccino not a 3 course meal! Anyway to a certain extend it was worth the wait because it was delicious and also the cup was a decent size not a bucket i.e.Starbuck! Although quite pricey the cappuccino and pastry was very good.We decided to go back after a meal for an espresso; my logic was if the cappuccino that involves a shot of espresso is good so must be the espresso. How wrong I was! Even though it was not busy as when we came earlier we still had to wait! Anyway when the espresso was served, it was cold and very dense quite an anticlimax. I also agree with most of the other reviewers on the appalling service. They can be bothered cant they? It does seem that they do you a favour. Get your act together mate!!!
