Excellent, I mean truly excellent, food here at such great prices. Sure it’s a bit like a takeaway rather than a find dining restaurant but this gives it very authentic charm. You’ve got to try the pho, the broth is wonderfully flavoured. Also go for the Hanoi curry ( I had beef) … So nice. Our table tried a few dishes and they were all very good.Try this place for great Vietnamese food.
I love this place! The staff are helpful and friendly and the food is fantastic. The salmon summer rolls are my favourite, a high protein, low carb treat bursting with flavour. The high quality and freshness of the ingredients make every mouthful a taste sensation. I have now tried about half of the menu based on my taste preferances and staff recommendations, every dish has been great or outta this world. It’s the latter that will make trying the rest of the menu more difficult with so many favourites ………..
Was told it’d be done right away, when they’d had kitchen problems and it was gonna be fifteen minutes. Nearly missed an engagement. Food dry – dry chicken on dry rice. Never going back.Staff were friendly enough, though.
After months of walking by this place on an almost daily basis, I’ve finally gotten around to having a lunch at Oi Hanoi. I feel as though it’s not really decided on what type of establishment it wants to be. The high chairs and fast service at the counter screams lunchtime spot – designed to be high volume, high table turnover, with maximum efficiency and minimum fuss. However, it’s a little bit nicer than just that; the waitress brought us a pot of green tea as we sat down, and there’s definitely an air of the place aspiring to more than simple lunch in the presentation and style of the Vietnamese fare before us.On the food, I wussed out at the last minute of ordering at the counter and ended up with some pork belly Banh Mi which was nice enough, but I did manage to pilfer some of the missus’ Banh Cuon which was definitely a much better shout – lots of flavour and decent portion side. Overall thenOi Hanoi is fine but I still have the nagging feeling that if it just stuck to bossing lunch or committed itself to be a more formal dining spot it would beimmeasurablybetter.
A pleasant place to grab a quick meal, but felt a little on the pricey side. Bought the sticky pork and rice with complimentary green tea, which set me back 8.50.
Being Vietnamese, I would like to think I have a good judge of what is good Vietnamese food. If you are looking for good authentic Vietnamese food, Oi Hanoi is a good shout. The quick service, cheap price and good food are its biggest assets (and frankly the only assets you need if you just want to grab a quick bite on a budget). I had the Banh Cuon (see picture) and the Shumai dim sum. Both were delicious. Definitely coming back.
A marginal cut above the rest on offer on the kingsland mile. The best Pho I have had since my last visit to Hanoi. Best Viet beer selection and the produce is what sets them a cut above.
