First time we went there, it was empty, as the lunch time had passed and we was eating very late, I was happy about it as I don’t like crowded places as it is, the guys were really nice and friendly, took a lil bit time for the food to arrive but overall it was good, though I know it could’ve been better, the food was hot and tasty, happy with the size of the plate, usually you get very small plates that food at times fall out, we enjoyed it and will go back.
A Hidden Gem in Whitechapel ,great food ,great service. I like the idea of fusion ,their food has nice seasoning and little spicy its nice plain like traditional Turkish. I don’t agree with the review below anyone can open any restaurant as long as they have understanding of the food.Golden Rumsey is not Indian but make a great curry.
Place was empty, I thought let’s try this restaurant, to my surprise I didn’t come across anyone Turkish in the place which was a shock, I am not a racist I have nothing against Bangladesh people but a Turkish restaurant should be run by Turkish people, Anyway let’s get back to the point I did not like the food there was nothing Turkish in the food the chicken shish was so salty that my friend could not eat it so we ended up cancelling that one, the waiter then asked the chef to come to our table to give us an explanation, wait until you hear this , what he does not know is we are both chefs and in the trade for the last 20 years, so the chef told me that the chicken breast they prepare for the shish comes already salted !!!! What is this ? Never heard of chicken sold raw salted and believe me I ordered from nearly everybody who supplies poultry in the uk like JJ, 3663, star, Brakes,NILA …..etc …….Please why not just say that salt preserve the meat and allow them to keeping longer so in the same process there won’t be any wasteThe salad on the plate was yellow not green the tomatoes slices tasted a bit off the rice long grains reheated They also put a table spoon of tzatziki and a table spoon of hummusI thought it was stingy and rude.My advice if you really want to have something Turkish go to Green Lane Haringey where you will have proper Turkish food made by professional chefs with unbeatable Quality ,freshness ,service even free tea and delicious baklava Or if you fancy Indian cuisine next door is called needoo I can guarantee you you will come out happy thank you for reading
