Decided to try out the Savoy a couple of weeks ago on walk home from the Old Spitalfield’s Market. I had noticed their cannolis lining the displays on a few occasions and decided it was definitely time to try them out!Ambiance: 2.5A cute enough little place wedged into a hole in the wall. It has large wrap-around windows in the front, seating at counters overlooking the busy street, and a few tables on the sidewalk (there are no canopies or umbrellas, so this option only works in summer weather!) The walls inside are lined with chalkboards, condiments, and the like. I would say come alone or with one or two other people at most. The Savoy really can’t accommodate too many people. Or you can takeaway like I did!Service: 3.5- 4.0I actually popped in here at 5:30 pm, not realizing they close at 5! The door was open and a few men were seated at the back chatting. When I stepped in I realized that they were in fact the owners. They jumped to their feet before I could apologize, and they insisted on serving me! They even let me have two cannoli for the price of one since they had a few leftover and were shutting up for the night.Food:The cannoli was very tasty! Crispy and crunchy on the outside, sweet and creamy on the inside. It wasn’t an outstanding gourmet cannoli by any means, but next time I have a craving, I know where I can get one!
