One of the numerous Balti houses on Brick Lane. The famous set meal here was for 7.99 and fared quite well on the quality front, if not quantity. The veg jalfrezi was spicy enough for me 🙂 The naan, the samosa starter were also ok.
Went to this place for the dinner. Good that i could get draught kingfisher.Overall food was ok not very great but my overall experience was not good as i felt that i was getting a very inferior reception from the restaurant. I saw them saying thanks and being polite to other people whereas may be because i was the only asian there the treatment was very dull with me.
I visited the restaurant to search for a vegetarian meal. Naan was quite standard and nothing special about it. But i like the cheese spinach as it is quite soft and good. Raita was quite simple and do not have even salt in it. Over all a average restaurant which can offer cheap meal. They have provided 20% discount on the food which is good.I do not recommend it for any special occasion.
I love curry and this is the BEST along Brick Lane and Central London. I’ve lived & worked in London for 10+ years’ and tried many curry houses. I previously sampled 20 along Brick Lane before visiting the Standard, since then I have always returned. Last night, again, the food and service is outstanding – my 8th visit!!All the other businesses need to fight it out along the strip for customers business – these guys don’t need operate this way.They are a real mark of quality food, service and expertise delivering a great indian experience to all that enter its doors. Well done and thank you again for a great evening last night.
