We came here as a big party – called ahead. My studio is down in Brick Lane, and even I have missed this place. It’s an incredible spot, and I love the decor. Yes, pizzas are a little overpriced, but the pizza is great! Lovely thin crust, and the owner is super nice as well! Like their choice of beer too. We now come here as a special treat now and then…I love that it’s tucked away from the hustle bustle.
Easily the best pizza I had so far, loved the crispness and delicate taste. Interior is very clean and cozy. Downsides are small-ish portion sizes and cash-only payments.
I didn’t have a great experience at this place unfortunately. The pizza I ordered was sold as an authentic Italian style pizza and came out more like a huge leaf salad with a tiny bit of pizza underneath it all. It was also very expensive Having said that, the pizza was not to my taste but might be for some other people and it is a very nice place with a nice atmosphere
The place is slightly tucked away from the Bethnal Green street so keep your eyes open for the tiniest sign of the place. I shared a chorizo and mushroom pizza with my friend and I have to say that you’ll need a full pizza on your own as it has a very thin crust (almost like a flatbread). The pizza cost 17 quid with salad and bit of roasted red pepper. The place is cozy but the room could’ve been bit warmer as I was freezing after half an hour sitting there…
Probably the most romantic restaurant in Shoreditch and again a place that I feel a sense of sadness over outing, but it must be done. Previously stationed at the Old Truman Brewery the Story Deli has in fact downsized to a more intimate and rustic space. A move like this is a sign that a restaurant is focused on the experience of the customer over cover turnover. These guys are in the pleasure giving business thats for sure.So the pizzas are expensive, however, our sense of the price of pizza is warped by Pizza Express, Strada, Zizzi etc…Through mass production, overseas labour and huge investment these places can churn out ingredients for far cheaper, economies of scale for foodies. If you want fresh sadly these things are slightly more expensive – and this is fricking worth it.The pizzas have the thinnest of bases – exactly what I was hoping for – the ingredients are nose-tingling fresh, the service is wonderfully warm. The whole place has a charm and charisma about it from the staff to the table legs.If you’re looking for somewhere to take a date, this is it.
