Very cosy little pub, both inside in the sofas or outside in the beer garden. Also they have a pool table! Definitely a great spot to hang out with friends. Will have to come back for the pub grub as it looked promising!

Great pub with a beer garden near Shoreditch overground / Liverpool Street. Bottle of house wine around 17. Had nibbles here before and they were pleasant enough! The inside is spacious as well if you are not just interested in the beer garden!

A great pub for summer near Shoreditch and Liverpool Street station. Slightly tucked away this is a hidden beer garden gem. There’s ample space inside too and the food and range of ales is decent as well. Gets very busy on summer evenings so get down there early, plus not all outdoor seats catch the rays, but nevertheless a lively atmosphere makes it worth the visit. Also, at the moment is a burger and beer offer for 10 between 12 & 3 – definitely worth getting your teeth into. londoncurryblog.com

Bad. Slowest person in the world behind the bar, took about 10 mins to actually serve us each time even though had no one else infront of us. Food was not worth the money, awful and at one point the waitress scooped up the veg from a plate (as she asked not to have it) with a spoon infront of the customer!

Love it. I ate at The Water Poet for the first time with my brother and his girlfriend. We loved the atmosphere there. I think it’s the coolest pub around. We had the Sunday roast. I thought it was excellent value. Really tasty and much better value that most pubs I’ve been to for a roast. The desserts were amazing.

Best for Sunday Lunch in Spitalfields. We spent a very long afternoon in the company of good friends and great wine at The Water Poet last Sunday. The occassion was even more enjoyable as the lunch was fantastic.Huge, generous portions cooked just as you’d expect Sunday lunch to be cooked – moist, tender meat, whole glazed carrots, crisp roasted potatoes, lashing of gravyPuds were good too. Indulgent and filling. Lots of custard for me and no room for the cheesebroard after unfortunately, altough we did like the look of the Irish cheese selection and chutney. on the table next to us.To be honest, this place fits the bill perfectly, whether it be lunch with the folks, a birthday celebration, parents on a day out with the kids…..or a hangover cureNot too pricey either. Staff efficient and friendly, which is always a bonus. I don’t think you’ll find a better Sunday lunch in the area.Lovely setting, just to the side of Spitalfields market, so shopping, drinking and eating all in one day! We’ll be back!

This was my Sunday at the Water Poet on the 05/12/2010- Booked online, but were told that they do not take Sunday booking, but had a opening 30min after our booking time – i can live with that – Arrived at the new time – table not ready and had to wait an additional 30 minutes – free round off drinks makes the time go faster- Got seated in the barn, just a couple of degrees warmer than a meat freezer – jacket, gloves, scarf and beanie definitely required- Ordered a 2006 Malbec and got one from 2009 for the same price – Don’t know about you a wine from 2006 is very different to 2009 – Gave us a free bottle so ordered a 2008 Shiraz, but it was from 2009. May need a manager who can check inventory from supplier. Both taste marginally better than a can of Special Brew- The food that we ordered off the menu was not available, so then ordered the roast beef- A 14 pound roast beef has never tasted so dry or looked so small. Could have tanned that meat and used it for a new sole So in all this, why does this place deserve a tip? – The cherry on my Christmas pudding is the Bogan Australian wishing us a well rehearsed ‘Merry Christmas and a tight-ass New Year’, cos we didn’t tip.Visit if you want to eat food fit for clothing with a starter of rude service.
