Beautiful, cosy, romantic little spot. Went here for a spontaneous after work date with my partner for wine and cheese. Had a sweet little table with big comfy cushions, low lighting and excellent service. Wine is off the charts good!
A very cute wine bar with a nice selection of wines by the glass and bottle… Very cozy and nice ambiance with a delightful staff. I’d recommend it for a date or small groups.
I only had a drink at Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels, as it was an unscheduled stop by before my evening ahead. However, the place left a lasting impression on me thanks to the gorgeous surroundings, very friendly staff and good ambience. I will definitely make plans to visit this place again.
This place is tucked away in the very charming Neal’s Yard. From the outside it does not look like the design haven, that is it’s interior. I came here for work drinks and was extremely impressed by it’s beautiful interior. It’s a mix of brilliant print and patterns, little Moroccan tiles lining the bar and funky printed sofas and cushions. We were served by a sweet French waitress, who told us about the various wines on offer and ended up choosing a Pinot Gris which was not cheap at 10 a glass. The Pinot was very good and enjoyed even more in the ambient and classy setting of the bar. Next we chose a slightly cheaper glass of Muscadet which was also great. The menu also told us that they served an array of charcuterie and cheese dishes which I would have loved to have tried if I wasn’t heading to dinner afterwards. Overall, prices of wines are high here but were quality and enjoyed in a charming and relaxed environment.
CVS is tucked away in Neals Yard, a pretty little Covent Garden court that is screaming out for summer to arrive. Back in the day Neals Yard used to have a slight grungy, studenty buzz about it, but now its been refined and boasts a new breed of bars and restaurants (including Homeslice Pizza). CVS is by the same team behind the Experimental Cocktail Club and this Parisian feeling bar stocks over 400 original wines. The prices suit most pockets, reds from 22 and whites from 25 per bottle, be careful though there are a few second mortgages on the wine menu too. The knowledgeable and very likeable staff recommended a couple of reds from their by the glass list. My Charmes De Kirwan, Margaux Bordeaux, 2007 was possibly one of the best wines Ive ever had but at 15 a glass I probably wont be having many more! Saff went for the other end of the scale and ordered a very, very good peachy Casa Mairiol, Terra Alta Blanc, 2012 for a reasonable 6.For We Love Food’s full review and more pictures go to… http://welovefood-itsallweeat.com/2014/03/16/dial-seven-for-a-good-time-rediscover-seven-dials-covent-garden-a-top-restaurant-destination/ welovefood-itsallweeat.com
