I booked afternoon tea here as its one of the handful of places which run it until the early evening. Staff were really helpful, they explained the items on the menu and as my friend was vegetarian offered to serve her the veggie option instead.As with most afternoon teas it came with a selection of sandwiches, scones and desserts. The roast chicken, onion relish on walnut bread was my favourite, it was delicious and I really wanted more of it. The downside was that the bread on the sandwiches had gone slightly hard and by slightly it was very marginal around the sides. I did arrive at 6pm so assume they must have prepared this for earlier seatings.The scones were soft and crumbly, which tasted so good once I smothered it with jam and clotted cream. Desserts were made up of macarons, cheesecake, eclair, fruit tart, lemon cake and fig & almond sponge. Nothing really struck out, all fairly average tasting. foreignfoodaffair.blogspot.com
Great place for discreet meetings and quiet evenings, the food is cooked very well, unfortunately the chips let them down, they are still quite hard inside, but the scallops were amazing and the lamb round (lamb 3 ways) is cooked to perfection I wanted more, and the shepherds pie is lovely, the mash potato is one of the best!
