Tried twice in 4 years, overrated. foie gras was not cooked, chicken liver was raw inside. steak was ok but nothing special. not so cheap for the quality either. all other london french restaurants I tried so far were better.
Completely overrated, still rubbish on 3rd try…. Savoir Faire is by far the worst restaurant I have dined in in London. The ambience is nice, but the food and service is appalling. This was my third time at the restaurant with a group who go there every year, and I thought I’d give it one more try, but alas, the meal was dire. The menu options definitely oversell what you are getting. I had a starter of a steak tart, which to be fair wasn’t bad, however the presentation left a bit to be desired (with the tart plonked on top of a roasted tomato. My main of duck was massively overdone (literally burnt on the outside) and a pile of soggy vegetables on the side. Finally, the desert of warm sticky toffee pudding was served on an ice cold plate! Surely that is a basic thing to get right – warm food on a warm plate!? If you want somewhere nice and homely, go across the road to Italian Kitchen, or head into Soho a bit, but after 3 times at this place I feel like a sucker for punishment and I will be dragging my friends elsewhere in future!!
The best beef bourguignon. The food and the service amazing, the best beef bourguignon, great place, I would go back!!!
Steak yes! frites & salad not so much… Had steak frites in here the other night after post work beers. It was good! The meat was well cooked and tasty so I forgave the fact that the chips were a little average. I’m not a big fan of salad at the best of times so the fact that I had a few sorry looking lettuce leaves with this didn’t bother me in the slightest. Overall, it’s excellent value for the location and worth trying if you’re in the area.
We had a group meal with 11 of us. They forgot one main course, and most of us had finished by the time it arrived, they also forgot side dishes. Inside is a bit tatty and the toilets are poor. Food isn’t bad but not amazing. Perhaps a place for quite meals for two.
Just had the best rump steak and fries in a while in this cosy place. Great service and value for money too!!
Excellent meal for 2 on Friday night. 3 courses, bottle of burgundy for 70. Small but not overcrowded just what we wanted. Would go again
