It is the typical London Pub. Not god, not bad. A lot of wood work, extensive selection of beers. It is very big. I recommend it to whom is in the area.

Yesterday it was the birthday of a friend of mine. At the end of a very nice evening we decided to pop in this pub because it was still open . At the bar, staff told friend that as he was drunk, they were not going to serve him. They then acted quite rudely towards our all group of friends, although most of us were completely sober. The only thing we did was asking for a beer . It seemed to me that we were discriminated for other reasons than alcohol… Without making a complaint we left because in any case, it was not a big deal to leave a pub as boring as that one and spoil the night. The bartender had been not only very rude to us but also to other people in the pub.WHAT A BUNCH OF CLOSE MINDED PEOPLE!

Shakespeare’s Head is your standard Weatherspoons. Cheap drinks, decent pub food, lots of space. We went for predrinks before a night out at Sway and it did make for a good meeting point. The pub itself does not have anything in particular to make it special except its location close to the tube and a few other venues you can continue your night out at. However it can also serve a good ‘quick pint’ destination after work before you hop on the tube in if you are in the area.If you are a small group I would probably recommend some other pubs up the road which are small but much more unique, but this one caters to big groups so if you are planning a night or an event for 30-60 people (probably even more if you book ahead) they can easily accommodate them.To be honest I don’t have any desire to visit again but I don’t particularly mind going again either. It is pretty much the perfect pub to have a completely neutral attitude towards. darcrose22albionadventures.blogspot.com

Five of us were led here by a friend with specialized local knowledge who recommended this place due to the abundance of seating. It was lunchtime, and we were done for the day, and looking forward to long and leisurely lunch washed down with several pints of beer.We stepped up to the bar and walked away with several Naked Ladies. We Placed an order for lunch, and I ordered the Ploughmans Lunch. It was well made and I ploughed into it after fetching myself a pint of Abbot Ale which served well to lubricate its passage. It was an agreeable meal, consisting of a generous portion of ham, cheese and fresh bread. The onion relish and Gooseberry chutney were notably excellent, and complimented the meal well. The place was vibrantly full, despite which we were able to find a table within a few minutes of arriving there. Freemasons hall being located nearby explained the presence of several groups of gentlemen in dark suits and masonic ties huddled around tables, deeply involved in hushed discussion. The Location is unbeatable; just a couple of minutes walk from Holborn Underground. Its located close enough to Covent Garden, that one can pop in for a drink or three, and still manage to find excellent restaurants nearby if the superb pub grub does not suit your fancy.

Good fish & chips and burgers. Pints were great after an 11.5 hour plane ride from Bangkok. Friendly staff.
