The ribs and the wings. That’s it. Order that and you will be so so happy. Each morsel is so satisfying. Don’t bother with the papaya salad unless you like fruit that taste of old socks.
Love this place, been going here for ages. Highlights : aubergine salad, the host shoulder, pork belly, fish sauce chicken wings. Addictive!
If you like abundance of Thai spices and barbecue; then there is nothing you won’t like in this small and dark dive bar. The slow roasted goat shoulder served here is a meat eaters delight. The menu says it’s for 2 but 4 people can easily dig into it if you order enough sides. Pair it up with tangy green papaya salad and smoky corn. We also had mackerel fish which was really nice. The place offers a limited menu but everything was so delicious. The restaurant doesnt take bookings, its loud, small and very busy. But it’s completely worth it!
Small little place tucked away in Covent Garden. Very simple menu but each item was well executed. We enjoyed the pork belly, papaya salad and wings. Price was fair and we didn’t wait very long for a Sunday night. Highly recommended and would definitely go back – service was also top notch!
I have been holding off on reviews during recent travels as I wanted to start with a positive one. Finally I have it. After a long day of walking we reached the Smoking Goat as the rain began to fall. Though clearly not a family focused venue we (two kids two adults) were welcomed warmly and a table was sorted. A limited but quality range of tap beer was on offer, and wines were fine. We ordered pork belly, beef short ribs, chicken wings, cucumber salad all great and meat really well cooked, with south east Asian and Indian combo flavours. Tasty, nice ambience, friendly efficient pub style service and I would return in a heartbeat.
That’s a 5 rating from me, and what a rarity. It must have been, and was, special. Greeted very professionally at the entrance and delighted that she was able to seat us immediately at the bar, which in hindsight we felt was the best place to be, at the hub of this small and intimate space. We started with fantastic cocktails, Mojitos, which were well prepared and good value. The menu is exciting in its combinations of seafood, meats and coordinated Asian flavours with the added bonus of barbecue cooking of some dishes. We went for a mix of both seafood and meat sharing plates and were bowled over by the high quality cooking and especially by the fabulous fresh and zingy Thai salad combinations with the food. All fantastic and the final bonus to add gloss to our perfect meal was availability of Beavertown Neck Oil Pale Ale on tap, one of my favourite beers. How good can it get!
Great atmosphere – friendly staff and the place is always buzzing. Creative cocktails and food packed with punchy flavors. There was a roasted cabbage dish that put all other vegetarian dishes to shame. The beef was tender and spicy and altogether delightful. happybelly.org.uk
