Handsome, bustling pub. Love the sober grey color scheme of the interior. I ate here regularly when I was a patient at Queen’s Square hospital around the corner. Good dependable pub food that I would rate at gastro pub quality. Generous portions.
Vile food, stale pints and vile staff. This is one of those places that I always promise never to go back to, but alas, I end up there somehow. For years it’s had a comic reputation for the most obnoxious staff ever. The turnover is fast so there are different faces behind the bar every two months, but all of them as bad as each other. Not even unfriendly, but actively RUDE.The food is rubbish. It went from being a poor stab at tapas to fried junk. The pints are also as dodgy as hell. AVOID.
