This place opened in 2003, but this location has been home to a licensed public house since 1216, and claims to be the oldest licence in LondonI happened to be staying in the Travelodge which was just across the street, and I discovered this place by chance. The door does not face the street, but rather is perpendicular to it, making it difficult to locate since Drury Lane is a one way street, and you can not see the entrance to this place until you have passed it. I suppose that is why its thinly populated.I have always found a table when I have gone there, and the seating arrangements close to the entrance and the window looking out onto the street are cozy and perfect if you want to order a drink and sit there for some quite time, and maybe people watch.Overall a warm and welcoming place.
A lovely little pub located around a 5 minute walk from Covent Garden station, this is definitely worth checking out. The place is usually crowded with tourists and people who have just finished work and like any other pub in Covent Garden it is teeming with people after 6pm. The ambiance is great; giving off a cosy and warm/welcoming vibe. The place is bustling in the evenings, due to which one has to wait 5 minutes to be served a drink at the bar. Prices are standard, similar to other pubs in central London. My experience there was great fun and I have now been there several times already.
