Been here twice and its been really good both the times. And the fact that its packed every night just says how popular it is locally. They also do a good lunch option with one course for 7 pounds and two courses for 10. A must visit! We had the arrabiata pasta and the calves liver main course. Both were beautifully done. In the evening, the menu is a lot of more interesting with a lot of choices. However, a bit of a moan that they do not have enough vegetarian choices. Just the odd one or two in every course. I had the pasta with aubergine, which was lovely and my husband had the linguine with pesto and he was very happy with it as well. The service is good, non intrusive but quick.A perfect place for a date or if you just want to take your loved one for a nice meal. Its more expensive than other high street Italian places, but worth the price. Two side, two mains, a diet coke and coffee set us back by 40 pounds.

A wonderful dining Experience. I have walked passed this restaurant many times and it ooze’s ambiance and I had heard the food was great. I took my family there to eat and it was a delight from begining to end. The service and quality of the dishes we all received was right up there with high end establishments i have been to that charge far greater prices. I had the Pork medalions which were exquisit. I am returning there again. The bad reviews i have seen here seem inconceivable considering the experience I had. A definate gem!

Just don’t go…. Still bad – as I live just around the corner, I first went here when it opened a few years ago and the food was OK, not great, but OK. However, at around 10 when we were looking to pay the bill all the staff disappeared, apparently to eat their meal, so the whole restaurant just sat there waiting for 30 mins before anyone came out the kitchen. Said I’d never go again, but went back and were seated downstairs. Do not take a table downstairs, it is a small box next to the kitchen and has no soft furnishing at all, which means it is so noisy it’s impossible to hear yourself speak – when everyone starts raising their voices because of this, it’s unbearable – we paid up left half way through the meal. Finally, my wife booked a table for New Year there through Top Table – even ringing the restaurant to ensure we wouldn’t be downstairs – a day later they called back to confirm and say we’d been moved downstairs as they’d got too many people booked in. Typical of this place and I’ll now never go back – please someone better take it over….

Great resteraunt. We visited on 3/12/11 and those people who wrote bad comments either caught them on a really bad day, or they are just spouting rubbish. we found the service was superb, our waiter recommended me a starter and main as i wasn’t sure what to have, but knew i fancied red wine. the Wild Boar was superb and was recommended due to my preference of wine. Overall, the meal and service was exceptional and i would recommend this, and will definately re-visit again. Grazi

Have had very mixed experiences of this restaurant, having eaten here 6 or 7 times. We’ve found their seafood dishes to be good. On other occasions I’ve had a pasta dish and a pizza which were inedible due to excessive amounts of almost raw garlic and an asparagus risotto that was so strange and sweet it seemed to have been favoured with limoncello. Desserts are good. Service is okay but it sometimes takes a while for staff to notice you.

Saturday 5th March. The food is lovely but the service is a tribute to Basil Fawlty. If you enjoy having waitresses turn their back on you before you are finished, warm aperitifs, or simple neglect, this is the place for you.Personally I actually like to feel valued as a customer.Ian
