About
Cafe Poirier is temporarily closed whilst we seek new occupiers. During the changeover period with our cafe inside Hatfields (Cafe Poirier), we will be unable to offer food and specialist hot drinks in the main store. If you are visiting Hatfields, we are delighted to still be able to offer wonderful food and drink at The Coffee House in our Budget & Clearance Outlet, which is situated a short hop across the road from the main store in Peartree Road. Jo and the team are ready to welcome you all to their delightful coffee shop.Details

We’ve had a couple of visits here and would go again specifically for the food not for the shop it’s in. Always very friendly, first time we had a lunchtime special of lasagne, this time an all day breakfast. chocolate cake was perfect too.
Good friendly service ,with excellent cakes and coffee.We have seen and ordered cakes from the celebration cake service they offer.All home baked and designed to your own requirements,and if local delivered to you.The quality being without fault,suitable for any occasion,reasonable prices.
Unfortunately Cafe Poirier is closing from 9th November 2018 onwards. The owners are intending to reopen in St. Johns Street Colchester from January. We wish them well.
We have eaten many fruit and cheese scones over the years and can honestly say these are the best. Also they now do a Roast Dinner on a Wednesday. Very good.
