Recently moved a bit farther up the street, the Phoenix is now in a more modern incarnation but still has the best sandwiches in Brixton. The owner, Sona, is always at the front with a smile and his halloumi and sun-dried tomato sandwich is extremely tasty and very reasonable. They make tea in an old fashioned cafe boiler as well and it’s proper stuff. Their fry ups are great as well but I don’t get down on the weekend enough to take advantage.
