Fantastic time at Seven @ Brixton. Feels like they’ve spent quite a lot of time thinking up great flavour themes and combos for their cocktails and dishes. Along with the the chilled and quirky interior, good music and snazzy clientele it’s one of my fav Brixton spots so far!
Was in as part of a mid-week brunch booking. Really enjoyed ourselves, good communication before as we preordered and all smooth on the day. Great prosecco too!
We were strolling around Brixton on the hunt from brunch and decided to stop into Seven- it was quiet, a bit quirky and had a nice vibe so in we went. The first thing that struck us were the prices… a fiver or less for a bagel? We were definitely getting ripped off in Balham- take your prices and shove em Harrisons…On order were hot chocolates- pleasantly large but unfortunately not hot enough for our liking… they did spend a considerable amount of time making them so that no doubt contributed. We also got a salmon bagel and an open Spanish bagel; highlights were the fillings- lovely smoked salmon, the caperberries gave a lovely sharpness, I loved the spicy chorizo and the morcilla de burgos (black pudding) was so rich and punchy. The slight let down were the bagels- really lacking the chewy texture and substance you expect!Overall, I’d definitely come back- the service was relaxed and friendly and I hear their cocktails are to die for… ooh and I spotted some churros which looked delicious too! connieconsumes.com
Seven is perfectly placed in the market to go for pre (or post) dinner drinks in Brixton village. Cocktails are cheap and has a regularly changing menu to keep it fresh. I tend to only come here at odd times as I don’t like how packed it gets at night but it’s like a good pair of jeans, looks good and you know it fits you. I haven’t tried much of the food here, it seems a bit meh with all the options that you have in the market so I choose to eat elsewhere. If you like seven, try their sister restaurant three eight four around the corner.
Bad bad Food!. Bad food! Don’t go here for the food! The worst most tasteless calamares I have ever had. Absolutely no seasoning on them. Tasteless. Served with some tasteless mayonnaise. Then the sauteed mushrooms in fino sauce – again no seasoning. Just sweet and creamy, more like a dessert. And no salt and pepper on the tables to add your own seasoning. This put me in a very bad mood! I have had many delicious tapas in Barcelona and this doesn’t come anywhere close. It is an insult to Spanish cuisine. I don’t know about you but as a foodie, it really annoys me when there is no care taken with food. A very dissatisfying meal. Really like the setting and would happily have a drink in here but will never eat here again. There are far far better tapas restaurants in London than this.
Came here today as i read lots of good reviews. i was very disapointe. food was terrible not edeble. had the churros and you could not even bite into them of how hard they where. as i left they as me how was my food. and i explain how terrible it was. the lady inform me that they are not even made fresh in there. some one else cooks them and brings them in. and how latley a lot of customers have been complaning about them. also had open bagel. was afull. im spanish my self and can i say this place does not serve anything that resemble spain. was very insulted that they can say its spanish food. wont be going back again
