Sponge and cream is nestled within Brixton market but what it lacks in space and atmosphere, it more than makes up for in taste and flavour. Generous servings of varied cake varieties and cute seasonal cupcakes are served with a smile from the lovely owner Paulina (a previous head baker at Hummingbird) The red velvet cake I chose at the #zomeeto event was moist and delicious and covered in my most favourite cream cheese frosting. The hospitality was second to none and I had a great lesson on making fondant decorations with a Halloween theme. Yes, the surroundings are slightly odd but I rather like that. A quirky place with cakes to die for.
