Excellent. We have been lots of times recently and the food is always of a high standard, well cooked and a lot of it. The prices are extremely reasonable too.We took a party of 13 recently for my Dad’s 70th and no-one was disappointed.Give them a go – trying really hard!

A day off that wasn’t so nice. I had a rare day off work and we decided to go to the Country Girl for lunch with our daughter. The environment is lovely and very welcoming. We ordered food and it is difficult to say a good word about it. First of all there was no tuna in the pub so no tuna mayonnaise sandwich! There is no children’s menu but on asking in the kitchen we were offered a few things and my daughter chose fish and chips. The chips were not cooked. My daughters fish was overcooked and really dry and she couldn’t eat it. My husband did eat his gammon although I noticed there was a a lot of it that he couldn’t eat, fat and gristle. We asked for garlic bread for my daughter and this was forgotten. When it did come it was simply a couple of slices of white bread with large pieces of raw garlic on top and some herbs. It was totally inedible. The beer was good and the waiter was full of apologies. He offered us 25% off next time and free desserts but we simply couldn’t face them and have no intention of going back sadly.
