First time I been there, was meaning to go there but never got the chance too but I’m glad I finally made it. I absolutely loved the platter for 2, I’m definitely going back to this place no matter what. Do recommend everyone to go.
Very good Turkish Restaurant in Stoke Newington/ London.. Very hygienic and clean place.. Staff is very helpful and polite.. Hot and cold starters, kebaps, lahmacun and pizza very tasty.. This shop has butcher.. You can shop halal meats!!
I honestly love turkish food and this is by far one of the best ones! The seating is downstairs from a mosque and they have these private small rooms where you can sit on the floor and eat. Traditional atmosphere and lush food!
We booked this place for a large group of friends to break our iftar. however, on arrival we were greeted and led not into the restaurant but to a rather depressing and grimey canteen. The waiter then took our order and after a few min came back and told us we had to change it as there was not enough shawarma, which was ridiculous as we booked in advance so the reataurant should have anticipated this situation. We waited for over an hour only to have the waiter come back and tell us we need to wait another 30min. This was extremely frustrating and we were deeply appauled by the lack of service. When we questioned the waiter about the situation he became very rude and accusational. At which point me and my friends got up to leave as we had enough of. This experience has made me reluctant to break my iftar outside ever again. Extremely dissapointed.
Aziziye serves traditional turkish food set within the Azizye Mosque in Stoke Newington. Shown here is the Adana Kebab. The meat contained bits of cartilage. You could tell it was made from the very cheap range of mince meat and as such had a raw meaty taste and texture which was unappealling to the taste buds. The price was also on the expensive side, especially for Stoke Newington; we’ve had cheaper and better meals in central london. They also added 15% service charge which you wouldn’t even expect from a fine dining establishment; the service wasn’t even outstanding; mediocre at best. The only positive to mention is that the place has private booths to sit and enjoy your meal in privacy with traditional floor seating but not so comfortable if your tall.
I went here about a week ago with family. We usually sit in the small ‘caves’ aka private floor seating rooms but they were all booked so we sat in the normal bit. Wevordered 2 types of starters – brek (cheese pastry) & lahmaun (turkish flatbread ‘pizza’ with spicy ground lamb or beef). Yummy! For mains we kofte, iskender & a chicken hot pot thing which I think was called tavuk gve or sote. The chicken iskender was DELICIOUS. Oh my, small boneless bite sive lively marinated pieces of chicken with yogurt tomato sauce n bread. I also has a juice. The guvec/sote wasn’t all that my mum said. The portions were HUGE. I ate half if mine and asked for a takeaway. Mum only ate half of hers too. Tip for next time: Order 3 meals for 4 of people. Unless you’re a sumo wrestler or have a bottomless pit.The toilets were modern and spotless – a bonus.2 starters, 4 drinks & 4 mains for just under 60. Would have been nice to be offered mint tea or something at the end but we was full. Try this out guys. And go for a private ‘cave’ for extra authenticity.
Rubbish Service, Cold Food. Rubbish service by that I mean tables that came after us were served food first although we ordered before them while they were just bieng seated. When the food eventually arrived 45 mins late, the Lahmachun was cold, the Pide was not only cold but the meat filling was meagre. the Aziziye Special had nothing special about it there wasn’t enough for 2 people. 1 lamb chop & 1 skewered kebab is hardly a meal for 2!
