Was well impressed with Il Bacio. Can’t argue with a buy one get one free Tastecard deal for 2 top quality pizzas. Treated to a lesser spotted Ichnusa lager too. In previous reviews people have complained about the service and then praised the authentic food. MAYBE it’s an all round authentic Italian experience and Italian waiters are no nonsense, to the point, lacking in fake smiles, which is absolutely fine, especially when the pizza tastes so good.
Went here with the family for the first (and last time) the other night. The middle aged man (waiter, or whatever) who showed us our seats was absolutely stinking of body odor so we left shortly after being seated. If I’d have stayed I would have paid a 12.5% service charge to smell him. If your staff can’t even take care of their personal hygiene I definitely didn’t want to stick around for the food.

The food is ok But there is not a huge selection. The most recent time the service was awful. Came in for my mum’s birthday and the waitress did not smile,was not friendly or warm at all. Possibly the WORST customer service I have experienced in a restaurant. She asked us what we wanted and returned with drinks without a word.Food came and was nice but was plonked on the table again without a word. We were then ignored and not spoken to until we asked for the bill.In my opinion in these restaurants it is the staff that really add that touch of comfort and make you want to return.Desert options were poor and We couldn’t get out quick enough!
Stitched up. Just ordered two pepperoni and blue cheese pizzas with vegetables and pineapple. The pizza arrived but without the two main toppings – pepperoni and blue cheese ! We tried to call to complain but the line was engaged for 20 mins and so we ate some of the pizza thru sheer hunger. When we finally got thru, we were told that they would send the correct pizzas, but as we had eaten (a small amount of) the other pizzas, we would have to pay for them. Eh ?! So basically we paid 28 for two rubbish pizzas with a few tomatoes, some inedible ropey artichoke and around 4 pieces of pineapple. Avoid, we were totally stitched up.
A friendly experience – I wouldn’t want to take my Italian urges anywhere else in Stokey.
