Really great pizza and I enjoyed the red wine too (cheapest one, no shame!). Ive seen a lot of comments about the service and lack of mozzarella – to those I say, go to Italy and see what its like there and youll see youre getting some true authenticity in London! Youre not supposed to load it with cheese because the sauce and dough are as important. And there are cultural differences when it comes to hospitality so dont be offended by their mannerisms.
When all your Italian friends, specially the Neapolitan, recommend you this place, you know this means serious business. Da Michele is traditional, simple and damn tasty. They only have 2 types of pizza (margherita and marinara), and they need not a single one more. Never imagined a pizza so simple and with less ingredients than fingers in a hand could pack such a great taste. Preconceptions corrected.
