A lovely place to go for special occasions (and if you want to feel classy for a few hours). The cakes may seem small but you’ll be full up within five minutes. Afternoon tea per person is 25.

Tea Rooms? Wouldn’t Bother If I Was You. This used to be a favourite place of mine with its tea room ambience, pretty mismatched china and real tea (ie leaves not bags). I hadn’t been for a while but went the other day and was very disappointed. It just feels different, the quirkiness seems to have gone along with the china (bog standard earthenware now) and the atmosphere. I finished what I’d ordered (quiche ok nothing special, tea ok nothing special) and went out whereas at one time I would have lingered over my tea to enjoy the experience of being somewhere a bit different from the run of the mill. I won’t be coming back. It’s lost its charm for me I’m afraid. It’s now just another cafe among the many on Stoke Newington Church Street.

The Tea Rooms Afternoon Teas. I love the Tea Rooms afternoon teas, pretty venue, lovely staff and affordable chic afternoon teas! I go once a week as a treat and always have a slice of delicious cake, sometime I go the whole way and have a full on afternoon tea (when I am with friends). The china is ever so pretty and the food always tastes great. They are even doing craft classes and workshops now which I keep meaning to go to. Highly recommended.

Homely, peaceful, polite and very, very yummy.

Fantastic – what a great space. This place was already lovely pre extension, but I’m loving the bright space and outdoor area. The food remains good quality and well priced and does the best cream tea I have had in ages!
